Ngorongoro crater is one of the natural wonders of the world. Located near the Serengeti in Tanzania, the crater is home to lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, wildebeest, buffalo, rhinoceroses, hippos, zebras, flamingos and more. The caldera walls envelope a dense ecosystem that provides some of the best animal watching in Africa. The shot above was taken from inside the crater near an alkaline lake. The striations on the right side of the hill are game trails the animals use to enter and exit the crater.
