Early one morning, riding on Safari in Samburu, Kenya, we came across a sleeping lioness. The noise of the vehicle woke her up and she began to stretch and yawn. Suddenly, she spotted an ostrich several hundred feet away. She quickly lowered herself into stalking position as seen in the photo. She quietly inched forward keeping her eye on the large bird. After sneaking about 50 feet the ostrich became spooked and ran away. So much for breakfast.
