Of all the shots of lions I took on safari, this one seems to capture the imagery that comes to mind when one thinks of the king of the jungle. This particular lion had just killed a wildebeest. After choking it to death, he walked to the top of a nearby mound where he sat to take a breather. I snapped his portrait as he started off into space.  Taken in Ndutu, Tanzania.
