Blessed Spit

IO9A5288

I visited a blessing ceremony in Xiahe, Tibet. Monks from the monastery sip on an elixir of tea and herbs. They walk past a crowd and spit the concoction onto the waiting pilgrims. The gathered people were pushing each other to get a chance to catch some of the spray on their face. I have never seen anything like it.
